SUMMARY:Golf Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Mr. Jerry Austry is hosting a fundraiser on behalf of the Myocarditis Foundation. He will be selling an autographed hardback copy of his book\, The Hogan Edge\, for $31.95 with $11.95 per book being donated to the Myocarditis Foundation. In addition\, he will be selling his new putter – The Stroke Balanced Edge putter. Each putter can be customized with any university\, college\, or professional team logo. The purchase price for the customized putters is $600. For each putter purchased a donation of $150.00 will be sent to the Myocarditis Foundation. \nAbout the Author and Putter Designer: \nI have dedicated my book (The Hogan Edge) and my new putter (The Stroke Balanced Edge) to my son Mark Stanley Austry who died of Myocarditis on March 14\, 2010 at the age of 32. Mark loved the game of golf from the time he was a toddler until his death. After college Mark took up the game seriously and set a goal for himself of becoming a top amateur player and qualifying to play in the Masters and British open tournaments.  He became a very accomplished golfer and set the course record at his home course (LANTANA Country Club).  Winning the club championship 7 times in a row.  We had played golf so many times together in every type of weather\, that I had a very difficult time going back to the golf course without him.  After his death I was devastated\, there was a hole in my heart and my pain on some days was crippling\, I was searching for a way to handle the grief from his loss\, that is when I started my imaginary golf match with Mark. that lasted 8 years compiling a score to match his record round of 63. Every time I played golf\, I would take his memory with me and this helped soothe the pain of his loss.  Now every time I remove the putter cover that his brother designed with angel wings\, the number 9 and Mark’s initials I feel his loving presence beside me. \n  \nAbout the Book: \n \nThe Hogan Edge is a book about the inception and creation of an iconic golf company and the success that was achieved by the Ben Hogan Company for over twenty-five years. This was followed by the turmoil the company went through\, following a corporate raid\, and by reorganizing the management team and how by featuring Ben Hogan in an ad campaign at the Riviera Country Club pole-vaulted the company to become the leader once again in golf club manufacturing. Then how by working with Ben Hogan to develop the Edge\, the first cavity back club ever produced\, elevated the company to the highest revenue levels in the history of the company.  Finally\, the book covers Hogan’s downward spiral after a Japanese company purchased them and how they systematically unraveled Hogan’s previous astounding success. \n  \nAbout the Putter: \n                         \n  \nThe Stroke Balanced Edge putter is a brand-new technology that no other golf company is offering today. He will set aside 25 completely personalized clubs under a special price of $600.00 with a $150.00 donation per club to going back to support the Myocarditis Foundation. The Stroke Balanced Edge putter offers the golfer\, the following benefits. \n\nPrecision Machined Center Shafted\nHozeless Construction\nZero Toe or Heal Twisting at Impact\nPerfectly Balanced Pendulum Stroke\nCerakote colors to match grip selection\nPersonalized university or professional team colors with matching grip\nCustomer initials stamped into the product\nSpecial: Head cover in memory of my son Mark\n\nIf you have any questions or would like to order\, please contact Jerry Austry: \njerryaustry@att.net or  (817) 925-9662

SUMMARY:10th Annual Quinn’s Cup Jamboree March 3-5\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:10th Annual Quinn’s Cup Jamboree March 3-5\, 2023\nBraemar Arena\nEdina\, Minnesota\n\nKelly and Kyle Kirsch lost their 8-year-old son\, Quinn\, suddenly to Viral Myocarditis in January 2013. They had never heard the word Myocarditis before that and vowed to not let his loss be forgotten\, and to raise awareness of the disease for others. Since then\, their family and friends have raised awareness of the disease and funding to support the Myocarditis Foundation and Research of Myocarditis. \nQuinn loved the game of Ice Hockey. His parents decided the best way to keep his memory alive and to help others learn about the disease\, that takes so many otherwise healthy children and young adults\, was to have a hockey tournament in his memory. Initially\, the tournament was played on a community pond in Edina\, MN\, where he lived with his parents and brothers. The community has come together and raised so much awareness of the one-day event\, that it has sold out (maxed out of players) for the past few years necessitating going to an Edina’s large sports complex\, an indoor arena where they now have a three-day-jamboree! \n720 Children will be participating in the event. There is a waiting list for others to participate. If you live in the area\, please go and support the event. \nThe Myocarditis Foundation thanks the Kirsch Family for all that they have done over the past 10 years to raise awareness of the disease and fund a Fellowship Research Grant in Quinn’s memory.
