SUMMARY:6th Annual North American Cardiometabolic Risk in Inflammatory Conditions: Emerging Insights and Treatment of Inflammation in Cardiovascular Disease
DESCRIPTION:Hear Clinical Experts Speak on These Hot Topics and More! \n\nInflammation Imaging and Cardiovascular Risk: Monica Mukherjee\, MD\, MPH\nEvolving Mechanisms and Genetics of Pericarditis: Massimo Imazio\, MD\nGreat Debate: Treatment for Recurrent Pericarditis: IL-1 Inhibition vs Steroids: Antonio Abbate\, MD\, PhD\, Kevin Boczar\, MD\n\nThis one-day course will cover state-of-the-art topics on the management of patients at elevated risk of cardiovascular and cardiometabolic disease due to underlying systemic inflammation. This course is designed to provide an informative and practical guide in the clinical management of cardiovascular conditions associated with systemic inflammation\, including patients with cardiometabolic disease\, psoriasis\, rheumatoid arthritis\, and systemic lupus erythematosus. Other pro-inflammatory disease conditions\, such as recurrent pericarditis\, will also be covered. The course aims to provide an update on recent data linking systemic inflammation to cardiovascular disease\, including the association between cardiometabolic disease\, exercise\, and underlying systemic inflammation. \nImaging is increasingly important in managing cardiovascular disease\, and updates will be provided on utilizing imaging in individuals with immune-mediated conditions to assess cardiovascular risk. We will review current updates in the clinical management of pericardial disease with an additional focus on pericarditis in pregnancy and a debate on the appropriate second-line therapy for pericarditis after failure of colchicine. Cardiovascular complications of such autoimmune conditions as psoriasis\, hidradenitis suppurativa\, and Sjogren’s will be covered. The day will conclude with case studies and practical lessons from cardio-rheumatology clinics\, including those related to pericarditis and accelerated atherosclerosis driven by systemic inflammation. \nQuestion and Answer sessions will be spread throughout the day to encourage interaction and audience participation with interspersed panel discussions from experts describing their own experiences\, practical approaches\, and lessons learned from cardio-inflammatory clinics. \nTo learn more please click the link below: \nCourse Details\, Full Agenda & Registration

SUMMARY:Patrick Kelly 2026 NYC Marathon
DESCRIPTION:At 32 years old\, I’m a proud Houstonian\, born and raised in Kingwood\, and a four-time marathoner. When I’m not running\, you can usually find me cycling\, hiking\, enjoying live music\, or spending time with my best friend—my one-year-old daughter\, Ruby. \nI work in my family’s manufacturing business\, where we create products across the family and leisure space—from mini golf supplies to motorcycle grips and golf equipment. It’s a hands-on\, fast-paced environment that’s taught me the value of resilience\, consistency\, and showing up. \nIn 2021\, while training for a marathon\, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer\, an earth shattering moment that changed the way I viewed the gift of life. Learning to accept what seemed to be unacceptable\, running became a fix for me that I knew I could rely on. It grounded me in my world of uncertainty and challenged me to define myself in a way that a diagnosis couldn’t. \nWhile I haven’t personally known someone affected by myocarditis\, I deeply understand what it feels like to have your life suddenly disrupted by a serious diagnosis. That perspective is what drives me to run with purpose and to support causes that help others facing unexpected health challenges. \nThis race is more than just another finish line—it’s a chance to to raise awareness and to support those navigating their own battles. I want to run fast for the people that wish they could.

SUMMARY:Abby Beltrani 2026 NYC Marathon
DESCRIPTION:My name is Abby Beltrani – I’m honored to be running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with the Myocarditis Foundation to raise awareness and support research for myocarditis. \nFamily\, friends\, and athletics have always been the foundation of my life. When a close friend of mine was diagnosed with myocarditis\, it really opened my eyes to how much of a ‘silent disease’ this is and how important the research is to support patients and families facing this diagnosis. Seeing a friend navigate the challenges of myocarditis and rising up to complete his own amazing athletic achievements despite his diagnosis has been inspiring.  \nThe NYC marathon presents an incredible opportunity to combine all parts of my life that are most important\, and run for something bigger than myself.  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Katrina Gangi 2026 NYC Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Katrina Gangi\, from North Andover\, Massachusetts\, is honored to run the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with the Myocarditis Foundation to raise awareness for viral myocarditis. \nRaised in a large Italian family where Sundays revolved around food and togetherness\, family means everything to Katrina. When her cousin Caitlin welcomed her daughter\, Francesca “Frankie”\, Katrina was overjoyed. That joy turned to fear when Frankie became critically ill and was diagnosed with viral myocarditis at just seven days old\, caused by rhino/enterovirus\, aka the common cold. \nFrankie survived on an LVAD for months before receiving her miracle\, a heart transplant\, seven months later. Her journey deeply impacted Katrina. \nKatrina lives in South Boston “Southie” with her twin sister and works in marketing. Her passion for running and supporting the Foundation\, she is proud to take on the NYC Marathon to honor Frankie’s strength and raise awareness for this silent disease.
