Patrick Kelly 2026 NYC Marathon

November 1

At 32 years old, I’m a proud Houstonian, born and raised in Kingwood, and a four-time marathoner. When I’m not running, you can usually find me cycling, hiking, enjoying live music, or spending time with my best friend—my one-year-old daughter, Ruby.

I work in my family’s manufacturing business, where we create products across the family and leisure space—from mini golf supplies to motorcycle grips and golf equipment. It’s a hands-on, fast-paced environment that’s taught me the value of resilience, consistency, and showing up.

In 2021, while training for a marathon, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer, an earth shattering moment that changed the way I viewed the gift of life. Learning to accept what seemed to be unacceptable, running became a fix for me that I knew I could rely on. It grounded me in my world of uncertainty and challenged me to define myself in a way that a diagnosis couldn’t.

While I haven’t personally known someone affected by myocarditis, I deeply understand what it feels like to have your life suddenly disrupted by a serious diagnosis. That perspective is what drives me to run with purpose and to support causes that help others facing unexpected health challenges.

This race is more than just another finish line—it’s a chance to to raise awareness and to support those navigating their own battles. I want to run fast for the people that wish they could.
