On a gorgeous November 18th afternoon, Back Pew Brewing in Porter, Texas, played host to the first annual Myocarditis Foundation Chili Cook-Off. The event not only aimed to gather funds for the foundation but also to raise awareness about myocarditis in the local community.
Starting at 1:00 pm, the cook-off featured a live band that provided the soundtrack to a day filled with friendly competition and flavorful aromas. Teams, armed with secret spice blends, served up their pre-prepared chili to eager attendees, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared enjoyment.
Amid the tastings and cheers, the Hog Father’s team emerged victorious with their crowd-pleasing “Texas Chili.” The applause and excitement marked a fitting end to a day that blended competition with community spirit.
The Myocarditis Foundation Chili Cook-Off didn’t just satisfy taste buds; it also struck a chord with the community, raising an impressive $20,000 for the foundation. This success wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, to whom the foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the overwhelming response to the inaugural event and are optimistic about its ongoing impact. The Myocarditis Foundation extends sincere thanks to everyone involved—participants, sponsors, and attendees. Together, we’ve not only raised funds but also created a memorable day of celebration and unity in the fight against myocarditis.
