It’s been 11 years since the Kirsch Family have lost their youngest son, Quinn, suddenly to Viral Myocarditis. Living on Minnesota, he loved to play ice hockey with his 3 older brothers and dad on the many ponds around Edina where they lived.
The Kirsch’s started this Memorial Tournament, to raise awareness for Myocarditis that took their son so suddenly in 2011. It started as a “pond hockey tournament” on a local pond with 10 teams and 125 children.
As the awareness of the disease and the memorial tournament has grown in the many towns around them, so has the participation in the 11 years since the first tournament, .
It has graduated to being a 3 day Jamboree at a ice hockey rink as the pond can no longer hold the amount of players participating in the memorial tournament.
This year they had 37 teams with over 600 children participating throughout the weekend!
They are excited to continue this great event in memory of their son, Quinn, whom they miss every day.
Thank you so very much to the Kirsch Family from the Myocarditis Foundation for their support!
