Family Support Meeting Held at The Woodland’s Resort in Texas
Families from all over the United States came together to share at the Family Support Meeting
held at The Woodland’s Resort in Texas, October 15 – 17, 2026. The resort was a peaceful,
beautiful place nestled in the back of The Woodlands, Texas, surrounded by nature, trees, and
ponds.
The meetings started on Thursday night, October 15th with a reception in a beautiful glass room at
the resort. It was a special time of sharing survivor stories and those that lost their loved ones.
On Friday and Saturday during the day, Dr. Cooper, Dr. Price, Dr. Bruno, Courtney Meuth of
Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals, Kelly Narine of Cardiol Therapeutics and Vivianna Merril, grief
counselor, shared information on medical details, advances, and clinical trials regarding
myocarditis and pericarditis, as well as understanding loss and how it affects families. All the
doctors remained on site to speak specifically with families that had questions and concerns.
On Friday night, all attendees were taken to Tommy Bahamas Restaurant off Market Street where
they dined in a private room and then were transported to Main Event for some bowling and fun.
On Saturday, 36 beautiful painted lady butterflies were released to fly in honor of our survivors
and to touch the spirit of our loved ones lost. We appreciate all those that were able to attend. We
hope they were able to walk away with some clarity and healing. We look forward to next year’s
meeting, which we are already in the process of planning, so be on the lookout for information in
the next couple of months!
