The second Myocarditis Foundation Family Support Meeting for 2019 will be held in Philadelphia, on Friday and Saturday September 13thand 14th. It will be in conjunction with the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) conference that starts that weekend as well. Our doctors and researchers will be participating in both and available to us for our meetings/panel discussions.

From our earlier post, the meeting venue has been changed. We have secured meeting space and a small block of rooms at The Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City, which is right across the street from the Marriott where the HFSA meeting rooms are located.  We will be meeting both days in the Rittenhouse Conference Room located on the 10th Floor.

We are still working on our agenda, but our meeting sessions will be both on Friday evening, September 13, 2019 which includes a dinner buffet and on Saturday, September 14, 2019 which will include breakfast. Again, as in the past, our meeting sessions will include physician specialists and researchers and our panel Q & A.  We will then move across the street to the Marriott, where the HFSA is also providing a Family Education Conference which will start with lunch. We kindly ask that you attend the luncheon and the FDA session with us as a group to support our physicians who are on our board. There will be a few other offerings there on the topics of: Heart Failure (HF) with and without preserved EF, the Future of HF, and Research into HF for those wishing to increase their knowledge.  We will be offering an activity/speaker as well during the early afternoon, after lunch, back at the hotel for those who wish an alternative to those patient topics.

We will end our Family Weekend with a lovely dinner at a local restaurant.

In order to participate in their day, the HFSA is asking that we register online with them for it. There is no charge, but unfortunately, their registration page is not up yet. We will contact everyone when it is.

We realize that we all have/had different experiences regarding Myocarditis. As in the past this weekend will be filled with lots of emotion.  But we truly believe that being together and sharing our stories, gaining knowledge and hearing what is upcoming in future research will be beneficial to all.  We have been blessed to have made friends with wonderful families and have gotten love, strength and support from all of them. This will be a time to meet new friends and acquaintances and catch up with some old ones.

Please join us in Philadelphia in September.
