The Myocarditis Foundation wants to thank everyone who came out to our Third Annual Chili Cook-Off! It was an incredible day, and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather for it. Once again, the event was hosted by Back Pew Brewing, and this year’s cook-off was our best-attended yet! We sold close to 200 tickets and raised nearly $27,000.
The funds raised will directly support our three-pillar mission:
• Funding research grants to better understand myocarditis, its causes, and treatment options
• Raising awareness about myocarditis across the globe
• Providing support to those affected by the disease
We cannot thank our attendees, cook-off teams, judges, and community sponsors enough. Your support allows us to continue this mission.
Our first award of the day was Judge’s Choice, decided by our expert judging panel: Tony Raffa from Raffa’s Restaurant, David Welch from Fire Craft Barbecue, and Dave Kelly from Avon Grips.
After tasting every chili, they selected Potliquors as the Judge’s Choice winner—congratulations! We hope to see them back next year to defend their title.
Next was the People’s Choice award, voted on by everyone who purchased a tasting ticket. After sampling every chili, attendees cast their votes for their favorite, and the winner was The Has-Beans! Congratulations to them—we hope to see them return to defend their People’s Choice title.
The final award was Best Booth, given to the team with the most creative and standout display, as chosen by our judging panel. This year’s winner was once again The Has-Beans, taking home two of the three awards!
