Genevieve Rumore will be retiring from the Executive Director position at the Myocarditis Foundation, effective 12/31/2025.
Genevieve started her role as Executive Director of the Myocarditis Foundation in March of 2015. She first managed the transition of the Foundation Office from New Jersey, and later the opening of the current office suite in Kingwood, Texas. Throughout her tenure, Genevieve has coordinated dozens of successful Family Meetings and awareness events. With seemingly endless dedication, Genevieve has taken innumerable calls from patients and their caregivers and guided them through times of confusion and distress.
In her role, Genevieve has coordinated the Medical Advisory Board review of and contracting for our annual research grants. She collected and reported the annual progress reports from grant recipients, many of whom have remained in the field of myocarditis and become mentors to new Myocarditis Foundation fellows. Genevieve was continually active in our education mission, personally teaching nurses about the signs of myocarditis and enabling many others to learn about myocarditis through our printed patient materials, newsletters, and multiple internet-based resources.
Genevieve plans to work as an independent contractor for the Foundation in 2026, helping part-time with the mission and leadership transition. We thank Genevieve for her over 10 years of service in the Myocarditis Foundation’s central leadership role.
