The emotional impact of myocarditis has received only limited attention by researchers.
The Myocarditis Foundation, in collaboration with researchers from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is conducting a study to identify risk factors for anxiety and depression in patients and their caregivers who have been affected with myocarditis.
The results of this study will be an important addition to our understanding of the disease.
The study is an online survey that will ask several questions related to demographics, general health, stress, anxiety, and depression.
Your responses are confidential. The study results will be published in a medical journal, but your personal information will not be.
Clinical studies help us learn more about a disease and better ways to treat it.
We ask you to please consider participating in our study, and contact the coordinator for more information:
Joseph Laivell, Associate Clinical Research Coordinator
Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 507-422-2928
He will obtain consent from the patient, collect their email, and have the survey center send the survey link.
You will then be able to start the survey after providing your consent. The survey takes about 45 minutes to complete. Some people may need more time than that. But you can take breaks by saving your progress and then logging back into the survey using a password that will be provided to you. You will not receive compensation from study participation.
Thank you for participating in this very important study.
