Sept 10, 2000 changed my life forever. I received the phone call no parent should ever have to take: Your daughter has been rushed to the ER. Moments earlier she was preparing to see Dave Matthews Band in concert. That never happened, she never woke up. I left my baby that night with the coroner all alone, the next day the report came back: myocarditis cause of death. My beautiful baby girl, ready to turn 19, been in college just three weeks, was gone. At that point in time there was very little information about this disease I hate. One minute she was here and the next she was gone. How can something be that wrong and I didn’t even know she was dying?
