The 10th annual Sarah Knight Memorial Golf Tournament, which was held on Friday June 10, 2022, in Marion, Iowa was a tremendous success!
Dr. Leslie Cooper was in attendance and the attendees are still talking about his impactful words regarding Myocarditis research. They all have a renewed sense of enthusiasm for funding research and continuing Sarah’s legacy in this regard.
Dr. Cooper’s presence was the highlight of their 10-year fundraising success story!
Dr. Paul Hanson, PhD, the first Sarah Knight Myocarditis Foundation Fellowship Award recipient, also sent in a letter that Dr. Cooper read for the supporters in attendance.
The Knight Family believes that the preliminary results indicate that it will be another record-breaking year and they will complete funding their third research grant in Sarah’s name. In addition, scholarships at Western Illinois University and United Township High School will help future bi-lingual elementary education teachers fulfill their dreams.
Dr. Andrew Koenig, PhD, of Washington University in St. Louis, MO, is the awardee of the second Sarah Knight Myocarditis Foundation Fellowship Award, which was awarded at the end of 2021 for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. We are hoping that he will be able to join them next year to speak on his research in the field of Myocarditis.
Sarah continues to make a difference in the world. She is loved, remembered, and celebrated!
