Myocarditis survivor Austin Zink completes Pat’s Run at ASU, honoring Pat Tillman.

On April 14th, two-time Myocarditis Survivor Austin Zink (#4999), ran in the Pat’s Run on the campus of Arizona State University (ASU) in honor of Pat Tillman. Pat Tillman was an ASU graduate and an Arizona Cardinal Football player who left the NFL to be an Army Ranger. Sadly, Pat was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2004.

Austin first ran the race in April 2015 as a freshman at ASU. In November Austin was diagnosed with Viral Myocarditis. Ready to resume his activities he went on a trip to California in March 2016 with his friends anddeveloped chest pains. He again went back into the hospital with Myocarditis.

Two years later, Austin is back out there resuming physical activities and very fortunate to have the opportunity to regain some normalcy and advocate for others.

Way to go Austin!  Congratulations!
